Salomé Blechmans began her film career at the age of seven, playing Lili in One Hundred and One Nights by Agnès Varda, and wrote her first feature-length screenplay at seventeen, later directed by Charles Belmont and screened at AFI Fest in Los Angeles.

Djinn Carrénard, who grew up between Haiti, Togo, France and French Guiana, left his philosophy studies at the Sorbonne to teach himself filmmaking.

They met in 2009 during the making of DONOMA, Djinn’s first guerrilla feature in which Salomé played a lead role; the film went on to be presented at Cannes (ACID), MoMA in New York and the Busan International Film Festival. Together, they later co-signed Faire l’amour, opening Cannes Critics’ Week.

In 2015, seeking to break away from a film industry rhythm they found limiting, they left Paris for Perpignan—described by Dalí as the “center of the world”—and founded FYMØ (Fight Your Mind Open). Over the following decade, they developed an intimate, exploratory approach to cinema, documenting a wide range of human experiences across Europe, from personal ceremonies to social realities, which ultimately led them to define their artistic purpose.
